Singapore firm to invest in IT sector
KARACHI: A Singapore firm will invest millions of dollars in the information technology sector here over the next five years.
This was announced by Seah Moon Ming, president of Singapore Technologies Electro-nics, while talking to APP on Thursday after signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Sindh Department of Information Technology. He said that the firm would set up its office here in the next six months and also made it clear that the amount of money to be invested would depend on the scope and extent of our involvement here. Mr Ming said that if the company can get involved in most of the activities here then the investment will be huge.
He praised the good GDP growth of Pakistan during the past four years. He was of the view that the IT automation efficiency was very important to further improve the GDP growth. He was optimistic that there would be a lot of scope here for his firm in terms of IT infrastructure, enterprise system and various distribution channels with local partners here. Mr Ming said that we want to promote IT as well as the human resource capital.
The president of the Singapore firm pointed out that they are planning to invest millions of dollars over the next five years. Referring to the conducive environment for investment here, he said that his firm would very much like a strong presence here. app
