Igloo upgrades facilities to double production
RECORDER REPORT
KARACHI (October 30 2004): The manufacturers of the country's oldest ice cream brand 'Igloo' of Pakistan Dairy Products Private Limited are upgrading their production facility to bring it at par with the highest contemporary international standards.
Speaking at the inauguration of the newly-installed unit, Igloo's general manager Syed Jawaid Hasan said: "This new Italian unit will ensure quality control of the highest standard while at the same time double the production capacity of our present structure."
Since the machine is completely automated, it will ensure zero-human intervention and will be operable from the control panel by a single individual.
He said: "The aim is to provide more quality, quantity and variety to its sweet-toothed customers while modernising the facility for optimum quality output."
Established in 1970 under the flag of K. Rehman Dairies, Igloo commenced production in 1974 with a self-operated distribution network covering the lengths and breadths of Pakistan.
After being acquired by the Al-Karam Group in 1982, the company transformed itself into a modern, innovative ice cream producer and set about the task of regaining its once loyal customer base.
In mid 80s, the company succeeded in its mission to transform and re-capture its market share with the introduction of the Supreme range.
