'$900 million investment poured into country'
ISLAMABAD (April 30 2005): Advisor to Finance Ministry, Dr Ashfaq Hassan has said that foreign investment worth $900 million poured into the country during last nine months, which was 53percent as compared to last year. Talking to Voice of America, he said there was no law and order situation in the country and about eight hundred people came from abroad in 2005. He said stability in country's economy and continuity in policies were very important elements to encourage investors, he said, adding all these things existed in Pakistan at the moment.
The business expansion activity in the private sector was on the pace of rapid boost as the sector had got loans worth Rs 700 billion during the past 21 months.
