Pak-US expo trade show in November

ISLAMABAD (June 12 2005): Pak-US Expo Inc is organising a three-day trade show from November 8 to 10 at the Garden State Exhibition Centre in Somerset New Jersey, USA. United States Export Import (ExIm) Bank has renewed its support for the upcoming Show in November, a statement of Pak-US Expo Inc said here on Friday. Talking about the salient features of Show, the Pak-US Expo Inc General Manager Ron Salma said, "This shows the genuine commitment the United States has made towards trade with Pakistan."

The Trade Show would help people of Pakistan in acquiring the equipment required to rebuild their infrastructure and help keep their economy booming with more exports to the US, she added.

On the opening day of Trade Show, organisers will hold a seminar titled "The Basics of Trade Finance and Risk Mitigation."

Ron Salma said Export-Import Bank (Ex-Im Bank) of the US was the official export credit agency of the United States. Ex-Im Bank's mission was to assist in financing the export of US goods and services to international markets.

"We assume credit and country risks that the private sector is unable or unwilling to accept. We also help to level the playing field for US exporters by matching the financing that other governments provide to their exporters", Salma said adding that Ex-Im Bank provided working capital guarantees (pre-export financing); export credit insurance; and loan guarantees and direct loans (buyer financing).

Ex-Im Bank has supported more than dollars 400 billion of US exports, primarily, to developing markets worldwide, she remarked. The Pak-US Expo Inc was the first joint Pakistani American export /import consulting agency in the private sector with the goal of opening new avenues in international trade between Pakistan and the United States, she said.

Pak-US Expo was a trade consulting company working to strengthen ties between the United States and Pakistan, she said, adding "We can help in the promotion of your products, and also be your representative or business broker as your needs require.
