Ukrainian delegation calls on defence minister


RAWALPINDI, Jul 22 (APP): A five-member Ukrainian delegation, led by Sergiy Sazonov, Chairman of M/s KARAZ (A Ukrainian Automobile Trucks Manufacturing Company), called on Senior Federal Minister and Minister
for Defence, Rao Sikandar Iqbal here on Friday.

Chairman M/s KARAZ briefed the Minister about the functions, performance and durability of the M/s KARAZ's Trucks which were being used for both Military and other transportation purposes in the hilly areas and difficult terrains.
Sergiy Sazonov informed the Minister that they were ready to invest in Pakistan and install a huge production facility/industry in collaboration with the Fateh Group for manufacturing the Trucks and other Heavy
Vehicles for the Pakistani Market as well as Middle Eastern Countries.
The Minister appreciated the interest shown by the delegation while investing in Pakistan. He further stated that Pakistan was desirous to establish meaningful and mutually beneficial cooperation with Ukraine
particularly in the field of defence.
Earlier, the Ambassador of the Republic of Egypt to Pakistan, Hussein Kamel Haridy, called on Senior Federal Minister and Minister for Defence and discussed with him matters of mutual interest.
Both sides underscored the need for greater cooperation in the filed of defence. It was also emphasized that both sides should exchange Military Delegations and visit each other defence establishments so as to
benefit from each other's expertise.
Chairman Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Tariq Kirmani, also called on the Minister and apprised him about various steps taken by the PIA management for further improvement of the Airline.
The Minister appreciated the efforts and vision of the Chairman and asked him to take further measures and make PIA more profitable and efficient organization.
