Pakistan Wants To Establish Shipping Line With Bangladesh

Pakistan has shown keen interest to establish a shipping line with Bangladesh to strengthen bilateral trade relations.

Pakistan High Commissioner Alamgir Babar said this when he called on Industries Minister Matiur Rahman Nizami at his office here Tuesday.

During the meeting, the minister stressed the need for exchange of delegations between Bangladesh and Pakistan and effective discussion among industrialists and businessmen to bolster economic cooperation.

He also mentioned the friendly relations between the two countries and said it could be made more meaningful through enhancing bilateral cooperation in commerce and industrial sectors.

The minister sought cooperation from Pakistan in carrying out a BMRE programme in the country's old sugar mills.

He also proposed widening scopes for higher education so that increased number of Bangladeshi students could go to Pakistan.

The High Commissioner apprised the minister that the Pakistan Government is actively considering extending cooperation in carrying out the BMRE programme in Bangladesh's sugar mills.

He said they would oganise seminars for the foreign students to make them aware about the scopes available in Pakistan for higher studies.

Alamgir Babar also said Pakistan would consider the proposal for increasing scopes for Bangladeshi students to study in Pakistan. :)
