PR invites EoIs for setting up 55 hotels
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Railways has invited Expressions of Interest (EoIs) for establishment of 55 low budget hotels in the different cities across the country.
These hotels are aimed at providing better accommodation to the people at comparatively affordable rates. Those locations where these hotels would be established include Karachi Division, Karachi Cantonment at two locations; near Railway goods shed and abandoned bungalow No 110 at Adam Road, Hyderabad near railway station, Mirpur Khas near AEN's office, Sehwan Sharif near Railway Station. In Quetta Division, at Quetta near Railway station and another at Jinnah Road,Chaman, Sibbi near loco shed, Taxila Cantt near station, Rawalpindi near station, Rawalpindi near old railway police station saddar, Jehlum near Hayat siding,Sargodha near Level Crossing No 77 and Golra Sharif.
In Peshawar Division the hotels are proposed at locations like, Peshawar Cantt near Railway Quarters, Peshawar near city railway station, Attock near Police Station, Kohat on Rawalpindi Road, Kohat on Bannu Road, Hassanabdal near railway station, Mardan near railway station, Charsadda near railway station,Nowshera near Civil courts.
In Lahore Division, the proposed sites include in Nankana Sahib at railway station yard, Faisalabad at Tariq Abad road, Gujranwala city near abandoned railway dispensary, Lahore guard running room, Sialkot at railway station, Wazirabad near railway station, Kasur at railway road, Okara near railway station.
In Multan Division, Dera Ghazi Khan railway station, Bhawalpur at Chamb More, Jhang near Saddar railway station, Sahiwal near railway station, Khanewal near railway station, Shorkot near cantt railway station, Multan near road-over bridge Aziz Hotel, Pakpatan, Lieah, Bhawalpur, Bhawalnagar, Haroonabad, Chishtian and Mandi Sadiq Ganj.
In Sukkur Division, Rahim Yar Khan near Abassi town, Shikarpur, Sukkur at buder station, Khanpur, Nawabashah, Jacobabad and Larkana. According to the plans, PR would run these ventures for a period of 33 years, extendable for a similar term, subject to mutually agreed terms and conditions.
Pakistan Railway, as joint venture partner would invest its "Land as Equity". The Lead Partner will plan, design, finance, develop, operate and market the project, ensuring regular revenue streams to Pakistan Railways during the currency of the agreement. He would responsible for obtaining any NCOs, approvals, sanctions and certification from local or relevant agencies for setting up the project.
