Thailand plans more investment in tourism sector

KARACHI, Feb 25 (APP): Thailand plans to increase investment in tourism sector in Pakistan. This was stated by the Consul General of Thailand in Karachi, Joompul Manaschuang, after inauguration of a Bowling Arcade at the Dream World resort here Sunday.

He pointed out that Thailand plans to increase investment in the tourism sector of Pakistan which would not only boost tourism, but also help to improve relations between the two countries.

The Consul General said that tourism is rapidly developing all over the world and he appreciated the efforts of Pakistan in also playing its parts and he offered full Thai support for the purpose.

He pointed out that enhanced tourism in any country brings in a flow of foreign reserves which eventually leads to economic growth as the other sectors also develop at the same pace.

Regarding official statistics of investment in the tourism sector, he said that it would be inappropriate to mention it before time as Thailand's investment plans are still underway.

He also expressed his desire of investment in Dream World resort and said that the place provides an ideal and complete environment for leisure which would further attract the attention of the tourists.

On this occasion Ashfaq Ahmed Shaikh of Dream World Limited said that the reason of collaboration with Thailand is to boost tourism between the countries.

He also informed that the administration of the resort has decided to have joint ventures with Thailand to take the first step in joining the local resorts of both the countries.

Ashfaq Ahmed said that action is being taken by urging members of DWR to visit Thai resorts and to actively participate in business activities and have Thais to visit this country.
