Pakistan serves as gateway for Middle East, Central Asian states
KARACHI, Feb 26 (APP): Provincial Minister for Industries Adil Siddiqi has said that Pakistan serves as a gateway for Middle East and Central Asian states while Turkey is the gateway for Europe and, therefore, both can have an access to international trade markets by promoting bilateral trade relations.
He was talking to Turkish Consul General who paid a goodwill call on him during which promotion of bilateral trade relations, investment and other matters of mutual interest came under discussion.
Agreeing to the Minister's views, the Turkish diplomat said that because of its geo-political location and international background, Pakistan and particularly Karachi, enjoy great significance as gateway to access international trade markets.
He said that both countriies can play an important role in providing acccess to Middle East and European countries.
During the meeting, Adil Siddiqi apprised the Consul General about the progress achieved in the industrial and commercial fields during the last four years as well as ongoing development projects in Karachi and said the day is not far away when this city will have its place among world's most modern and developed cities.
He said in this era of fast development, Karachi would like to benefit from Turky's construction sector while it is also a best opportunity for Turkish Architects and Investors to extend their experiences and expertise.
The visiting diplomat assured that he would pursue Turkish investors to make investment in Pakistan.
