Does anyone know whats the latest update reguarding the 7 star hotel in Islamabad has construction started on this project? Anyone been to Islamabad recently.

As I remember the construction started a year back and I think PM laid stone, the construction work was going on rapidly, I remember watching some pics in papers.

The contractor is some Dubai based company.

May be someone from Islamabad can update or post some pics of construction work.

Oh well lets hope the construction is moving along swiftly when is completion date

The hotel will be the Hilton Conrad which is Hiltons Ultra Luxury Brand!

I doubt if it would be 7 star .. a 5 star is more than enough for us.

Some days back I visited the site to check the progress of work, now they are entering the piling stage. As I saw some machines making digging in already dug 100 feet depth space. That seemed to be digging to carry out piling. Now two hotels in capital are being built by Chinese companies one is 37 storey Centaurus and other is 45 storey Grand Hyatt Chahar Bagh.

ARY OneWorld right now is showing a docemntary on The Centaurus, including an interview with the director of the project.

Visited it today. Work is in progress and there was a lot of machinery around the area. Some Chinese guys visited the office while I was there. They were taking pictures of the Centaurus model/replica.

yep saw it too Chinese here and there and heavy load machines working.hope it will get done asap.construction is in full motion.

I heard on the interview (of Tanveer Ilyas Khan?).. something about Chinese involvement in the project.

Yaar I hope Chinese is involved in this project otherwise our choor leaders with make fake building and it wont even be earthquake proof.

That whole area is a big construction site! Other than the hotel, they are also building a flyover right opposite it and some underpasses as well. I visit Islamabad quite a bit...and progress is visible. Just hope they can get it all done on time.

No, I just needed information about procurement office for a survey. I wasn't there to look at the building construction, itself.

Those are parts of the plan to make the Islamabad Expressway (5 lane one sided [total 10 lanes] ) a signal free road. Would help a lot with traffic.

its a private investment....not a public one...

construction contract was given to a chinese company hence why there are so many chinese in the area. I think the main stakeholder is the same company that built the 7* Al-Burj Hotel in Dubai...

As I mentioned elsewhere, the two-bedroom luxury penthouses on this site were all booked in advance at a cost of Rupees 16 crore each, thats about
£1.2 million sterling.
