Full Version: Nespak Engineering Gets 136 Projects

LAHORE, July 19: Nespak Managing-Director Karamatullah Chaudhry says the organisation has secured 136 projects with a contract fee of about Rs5 billion within Pakistan and abroad during the financial year 2006-07.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, Mr Chaudhry said, the Nespak, a state organisation of consulting engineers, got 111 projects from Pakistan and 25 in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Yemen, Qatar and Afghanistan.

He said the projects secured within the country included Sialkot-Lahore Motorway, Sheikh Rashid Expressway and flood channel in Rawalpindi, rehabilitation of Lower Chenab canal (part-B), Dadu-Khuzdar power transmission system, lining of distributaries and minors in Sindh, 500MW combined cycle power plant at Chichoki Mallian near Sheikhupura, turnkey construction in education sector in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and new Islamabad international airport near Pindigehp.

The 25 foreign projects were related to the construction of airports, highways, power plants, education and healthcare facilities.


He said the tremendous increase in contracts was by virtue of top quality professional services, aggressive business approach and confidence of the domestic and foreign investors in Nespak.

He said Nespak houses would be built in Islamabad, Karachi and Peshawar.

We are working on a project in Oman (Water reservoir) where Nespak is in the consortium of consultants for the project.
