I dont see that there is such a high demand for 5 star hotels in pakistan right now, I mean infrastructure should be top priority for us not 5 star hotels but convention centres are good for economy we can hold international conferences where we can make good money from foregin visting delegates

Have you visited Islamabad in recent years? It is realy impossible to get a good hotel these days if you dont have advance booking, all hotels are running at 100% occupancy and lots of guest houses have popped up and so many problems, we realy need some good hotels and offie places in capital.

Besides, this is private development:

The private sector should help, but ultimately infrastructure is GoP's responsibility.

Yes I have been Pakistan 4 times in last 3 years mate. I stayed at Pak Palace on Club Road and we got booking no problems when we arrived there and then.

I visited Islamabad in 2005 with a group of 5 people & it was impossible to get a room in the only two 5 star hotels of Islamabad. Ultimately through a very resourceful person we got rooms in Inter-Con.

For foreign delegations 5 star hotels in Islamabad is a must and mind you i would say only 15 to 25% capacity would be used by local population whereas 75% of revenues will get generated from foreigners & this will bring foreign currency in Pakistan.

We need hotels through private entities (just like above) to help generate jobs, etc. etc. Yes govt. initiated hotels are not correct .. and investment in infra structure should be the area of GOP investment.

I live in Islamabad, its very hard to find a place in hotels on ur desired floors and hotels and dates.
where i work our guests come and then we find difficulties to get rooms esp. in executive rooms booking.

Ok then we need hotels, last year we drove back from Murree and we wanted to stay a night in Islamabad and the first hotel we went to there was room but it wasnt nice then we went to Pak Palace which was very nice and we got 2 rooms the night we got there. Maybe its just me.

Yes.. I agree... I'm sure Donald Trump will come over to build Pakistan's infrastructure... not for profit... but out of the "goodness" of his heart...

Better yet, can you please send a check to fill up the pot holes on Iqbal Street in Gujrawala... ure "investment" is much needed!

PS* Private investment usually is for profit… Infrastructure development is usually the domain (responsibility) of the Government… & it’s the local population’s job to hold their politicians feet to the fire… to get the job done… But what do I know… Just FYI

Azibal .. now you are comparing "bananas with bringles".

We are talking about 5 star hotel with rooms rates in the rate of 7,500 to 15,000 / night .. where "aik piyala cholay ka is sold at Rs. 500/= and foriegners like to eat local food" !

Pak Palace is not a 5 star hotel .. and foreign company directors are use to staying at 200 to 400 Euro hotels per night not in local hotels.

We are talking on the level of Serena & Inter-continental.

The group that is building this hotel is located in our building in Evacuee Trust Building, and today I saw people carrying 3 to 4 large hangings of the models of the hotel to the office building. I wish BNP group the success.
