it is designed by 8 pakistani scientists apologize it is fired from air i mentioned before that it wz fired for sea.

I reackon its a good weapon for SEAD operations and should be considered as an option by PAF.

Well they are all right, just thought of it... what it saying is it can be fired at sea, so our Mirage which are used for navel purpose should be able to fire it. As well as at land... this is what was mentioned in one source.

This missile test was of a compact Babur being launchd from air.

There is another type of missile coming out very soon. Wait for more news. Probably by year end.

We will be launching a submarine version of Babur in October and air to air version missile of a different class by year end.

why we chose name Raad ? similarity between Jf-17 thunder and Raad ?

IIRC Iran's raad is a free flying rocket and also a locally manufactured version of FM-90 SAM niether are cruise missiles. Does any one have the picture of Hatf-VIII???

Good news.

The missile has been reduced in size and diameter for obvious reasons, hence the range. But I think it would still carry the same weight of warhead or even more, which makes it one of the most lethal air launched weapons with max range in Pakistan’s inventory. The other air launched weapon is the joint standoff over the horizon 70 Km 700 Kg wind corrected weapon (don’t know the name, sorry!).

Just need to know what fighter will be carrying it. And some pics.

Also read some amusing thing in "global military watch" where artilce abt Aukla sub india is buying the author goes to the extend of saying the sub will come next year an will be armed by Indias own '1000+km cruise missile". what missile last time i checked they only had russian made indian painted range of 300 or so km

Yes its a great achievement that we have created the new Hatf-8 (Ra’ad)). ALCM, this gives us a lot of strench and can be a great weapon in PAF's hands, we can be sure PAF can target indian airbases from stand off ranges, besides that PAF fighters wont have to face heavy indian sam concentration,PAF can even target their sam networks through these missles.

Now thats what I am talking about. Our Air Force is getting stronger and stronger.

This baby seems to be in the class of storm shadow, and there are indications in the report that an AShCM version might be developed based on Raad, that will be awesome, a 300km class anti ship missile!

i believe its a big achievement but i believe we shouldnt get a head of our selves and compare it with the french storm shadow lets hold our horses i am happy about the weapon and it gives PAF a lot of punch but i am sure it will be upgraded and the range will also be incread but thats my own opnion later blocks lets say 2 years from now can be compared to storm shadow but not right now.

no brother its not non-sence its reality 1st of cool off and relax while you reply to a fellow Pakistani 2ndly where did i say Pakistani missles are anyless then french or any other cruise missles, what i am saying its the 1st version for example when babur LACM came out it had a range of 500km now its electronic systems and its motors/engine have been upgraded,now its better and there will be more and better blocks of the same missle.

As far as Raad goes its our 1st home build ALCM missle and i think its a fast responce to the indian bharmos air launched versions, later blocks will be better faster and deadlier, we are producing good inhouse technologies but lets not get ahead of our selves.

Well this is likely a miniturized babur if not it is very well influence by the babur design (low-flying stealth), if a air launch version is possible and is capable of targetting land and sea target I dont see how this couldnt be fit into a sub
