Is the Indian Navy now starting to focus toward the East and China vice to the West and Karachi?

It looks like India has only six (out of the ten total) Kilo SSKs operational, Three in Mumbai and Three in Vishakhapatnam. This leaves two in Maintenance at Mumbai and Two in maintenance at Vishakhapatnam (Actually, one of the Vishakhapatnam units is reported as being cannibalized for parts are awaiting scrapping vice in maintenance status!)

Two of the Three Vishakhapatnam based KILOs that are operational are capable of shooting the SS-N-27B ASCM perfect if China wants to go through the Straits of Malacca.
Both the AKULA when she arrived from Russia and the ATV once she is launched and operational will be based in Vishakhapatnam, not Mumbai.

Is it just me or is India finally more worried about China then its Neighbor Pakistan?

At the moment its Pakistan, maybe after a few years it may be China.

Given the recent developments, the peace process between the two countries have been more than just lip service.

So until the current senario changes, no reason to why india will have any immidiate focus on Pakistan and Vice versa.

I voted Pakistan but it depends entirely on the scenario.

Hypothetically China is more of a threat if it was a straight up war for the sake of war.

Realistically Pakistan is more likely to be involved in a war with India and thus thier focus should be towards us.

Bangladesh is purchasing submarines also....may be this is the reason?

...and also apparently considering advanced corvettes and new frigates. Though Pakistan's growing defence budget and expanding defence industry is no joke either...a considerable portion of the IN will be needed to attempt a blockade on Pakistan.

or may be they have realised that it is not possible to blockade pakistan...as at the present we have the edge, and in future even if they have the edge, a blockade will no doubt bring the chinese into the war as it will be a attack on their exports and also on their imports of energy from ME.

Pakistan and China are allies in peace no one country is different if India attack China Pakistan should open up a second front.

Neither Pakistan nor China will attack India actively.

I don't think either Pakistan or China has desire or necessity to do anything militarily to India. In stead, the greatest threat to India is India herself.
