Hillary proposes joint oversight of Pak nukes Monday, January 07, 2008

Democratic presidential hopefuls, New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson,
Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, former Democrat Senator John Edwards and
Senator Barack Obama point to the audience after the televised Democratic
presidential debate at Saint Anselm College on Sunday. ap
By Khalid Hasan WASHINGTON:
Hillary Clinton said in a debate with fellow contenders for the Democratic party presidential nomination on Saturday night that she would propose a joint US-British team to oversee the security of Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal if she is elected president."So far as we know right now, the nuclear technology is considered secure, but there isn’t any guarantee, especially given the political turmoil going on inside Pakistan"” she said.
If elected president, the senator said,
"I would try to get Musharraf to share the security responsibility of the nuclear weapons with a delegation from the United States and, perhaps, Great Britain, so that there is some fail-safe."Military strikes:The four Democratic candidates " Clinton, Senator Barack Obama, Governor Bill Richardson and former senator John Edwards " were critical of the Bush policy towards Pakistan. They said they were prepared to launch unilateral military strikes in Pakistan if they detected an imminent threat or could pinpoint the location of Osama Bin Laden.“Here’s an unstable leader, Musharraf, in a country with a serious radical " violently radical element that could, under some circumstances, take over the government," said Edwards. "If they did, they would have control of a nuclear weapon. They could either use it, or they could turn it over to a terrorist organisation to be used against America or some of our allies."
Obama restated his earlier stance that he would take action in Pakistan even if Islamabad opposed, if there is strong intelligence on Al Qaeda there. "Back in August, I said we should work with the Pakistani government, first of all to encourage democracy in Pakistan so you"ve got a legitimate government that we're working with, and secondly that we have to press them to do more to take on Al Qaida in their territory," he explained.
"What I said was, if they could not or would not do so, and we had actionable intelligence, then I would strike." Richardson called for Musharraf’s ouster. "Here is an example of a country, a potentially failed nation-state with nuclear weapons," he said. "We had a situation where (Musarraf) has not gone after Al Qaeda in his own country, despite the fact that we’ve given him $11 billion ... He's basically said that he is the supreme dictator. So we have the worst of all worlds. What I would specifically do as president is I would ask Musharraf to step aside."

Bhai Pakistan is ready, are our elitists ready? If they ask you and me wether we are ready, there is no doubt over the answer, we need to ask is Bilawal ready? Is Musharraf ready? Is Shujaat ready? In Nawaz Sharif ready? These are the people who need to be ready.
Wessay i don't see them taking these steps, if they launched military strikes and we still had ties, the government of the day would be lynched, heck i'd fly back to lynch them. They have to be ready to counter attacks.
For the Glory of Pakistan.

No matter what all of these politcians really enjoy making the American people fear Pakistan and abusing that fear to get votes, what a bunch of lowlifes.
Especially American elections are really just a big commercial / entertainment, "vote for me, I am cheaper... "
Creating a scenary and then solving it (well its their own scenary so it can't be that hard solving it...)

Musharraf Annoyed by Flurry of statements from UShttp://www.thenews.com.pk/top_story_detail.asp?Id=12205By our correspondent
ISLAMABAD: President Pervez Musharraf on Wednesday expressed apprehension at the stream of statements being made by US presidential hopefuls about Pakistan's nuclear assets, in a meeting with visiting American Senator Joseph Liebermann, who called on him in Rawalpindi.
The most audacious of these has been the one made by Senator Hillary Clinton, a democratic candidate, who suggested that the US step in and take control of Pakistan's nuclear assets. She has conveniently chosen to forget the recent incident when mated nuclear heads were loaded in an aircraft by mistake in the US.According to the spokesman at the Foreign Office, President Musharraf thanked Senator Liebermann for his statement of support and solidarity with Pakistan following the tragic assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
The president also apprised the delegation that the government was committed to holding free, fair, transparent and peaceful elections.

They complain about Pakistan doing very little with the $10 billion on the "war on terror" even though the U.S. has spent anywhere from $600 billion to $1.3 trillion on the wars in Afghanistan & Iraq and haven't accomplished sheit.
On top of all this BS we've suffered the 2nd MOST casualties on the "war on terror" after the U.S. which CNN & FOX ALWAYS fail to mention.

Obama did well against Clinton on super tuesday on Feb 5. She won the bigger states like California and NewYork but Obama won more states than her. Now the election is practically neck and neck but Obama has the momentum and raised more money than her. He will have a good chance on the next states like Lousiana and Washington.
Obama has proven he could win the support of white voters and has a good chance of winning the Democrats nomination.

Its all BS. It all political posturing by the presidential hopefuls. They make all sorts of promises and never keep them. Also, look at history. There is no country crazy enough to attack a nuclear power.

US have already bombed a few locations in Pakistan in relation to military action against Al Queda.

And you think that was done with out the knowledge or approval of GOP? The predators are stationed in Pakistan for God's sake, how could they not know?
This is political posturing, in an attempt to win points. When Obama first made these comments Clinton called him naive but now she is towing the same line, gee...I wonder why? These candidates like to talk tough but in the end they couldn't do #### to Iran, Pakistan is a long shot.

I was thinking about this the other day and I decided $10 Billion was a measly sum considering our contributions in American's WoT. We should ask for more.
Firstly, that all our debts be excused - and then, serious compensation for the Pakistani lives being lost. America can afford it - they already spend billions keeping corrupt Western-puppet dictators in power in Africa.

We paid with blood, sweat & sanctions .. NO mai ka lal has the right to destory our technology or capability, when we faced half a million troops on the border nobody came to our neighbours door step to remind them of peace.
US or their illegitimate children if ever tries to touch our arsenal than we will show them how vicious & united we can become like an injured tiger / lion.
Abama / Hillary / McCain .. have the balls to face us openly and we shall show you what material we are made up of.
As regards the US bravery .. yeah these hypocrits could not even face USSR openly in AFghanistan had to buy old USSR equipment from Egypt & Palestinains to supply to the Mujahedeen because USA simply did not want to openly face the USSR might and we fought, engaged & killed USSR might openly.
Unless you bomb us immediately by nuclear weapon (which keeping in mind of US history), otherwise low intensity attack will allow us to "take the living daylights out of US camp".

One thing is for certain...
We are headed for the second breakup in US Pakistani relations as predicted years ago...
In my frank opinion if Moshe was even a bit sincere with his country, he'd pass on power to an elected govt and prepare ground for when the asses (Democrats) take over Washington...

I doubt democrats will win. I was thinking they had a good chance until McCain came up. Against him neither Hillary nor Obama measure up. Hillary is there because of legacy of Bill Clinton, who was a great President. Those were indeed good days in America, and people still miss him. Which is why he is strongly campaigning for her. Without her husband's support she would even be losing to obama which is surprising.
Lol it don’t matter if Hilarious or ofucka win as they are both likely to loose to McCain….I still think hilarious will pip him to the post.
I was watching CNN last night and many of the democrats were asked about him and they said they liked his ideas on things and he was willing to work with everyone regardless of political differences. They then asked about international affairs and US homeland security and who would be best, hands down they said McCain.
Go John McCain!

These idiots think that ifthey launched airsrikes against Pakistan, the Pakistanis would just wait like sitting ducks. Well, let me tell you, if the West launched strikes against Pakistan, there would certainly be an enlarged war and Pakistan would inflict serious damage.

whatever it is, those are hostile remarks being said in 'smiling' ways. As if any country is going to hand over nukes, defeats the very purpose of it. Use it before losing it thats what they are meant for. Its very dangerous thing they are doing. In any case, its kind of a good thing they said it, because it justifies ICBM or atleast longer range missiles.
