This was agreed in a meeting between the officials of the two organisations held at the TUSDEC Head Office on Wednesday.
Despite the fact that Pakistan has one of the world’s largest reserves of marble and granite, the country has not been able to carve out a niche in the international market. About 80 percent of marble in Pakistan is wasted due to blasting and lack of proper facilities. The use of modern technology, according to a study, can help reduce the losses by 45 percent.
PASDEC officials evinced keen interest in TUSDEC’s plans to establish the Peshawar Engineering Support Centre (PESC) and suggested that this facility could be helpful in replacing the existing obsolete technologies in the marble sector with the new ones.
It was also suggested that a Common Facility Centre (CFC) be set up in Balochistan with the help of the TUSDEC for manufacturing marble mosaic by utilising the marble waste.

That is a good idea to manufacture marble mosaic by utilizing the marble waste. Pakistan should adopt new technology for blasting and cutting marble as about 80 percent of marble in Pakistan is wasted due to blasting and lack of proper facilities, and to reduce to minium.
