Pakistan to progress unhindered by concerns from any quarters

KARACHI: Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Afzal Tahir Saturday expressed his resolve to never back down on the pace of national development.

He was responding to a query posed by one of the journalists on the occasion of Pakistan and Saudi Arab joint drills.

‘If India has some concerns over Gwadar Port, it may be discussed; however, we cannot stop our progress on concerns from any Tom or Peter,’ he said.

Afzal Tahir arrived at Bandar Island in the open sea off Karachi coastline to inspect the joint war exercises.

Pak-Saudi joint military exercises, named Naseem-e-Bahar, are held every two years.

These exercises feature seven Saudi naval ships and Pakistan is taking part in the drills with nearly all naval ships and frigates.

The chief of Saudi Navy said, ‘That large military drills between two countries are abundant proof of the brotherly relations found between the two countries,’ adding that Pakistan’s largest-scale military exercises are held only with Saudi Arab.

I honestly don't see why India would b!tch over Gwadar. They are getting P-15A/17's which would be among the best in Asia, and also Scorpene subs. Honestly, what's the big deal, man. Gwadar should be no concern for them. It's there to help Pakistan's economy.

If India Has Some Concerns Over Gwadar Port... it should shove it all its concerns up its ass... seriously why is our Naval Chief even considering to allay such concerns... why to act as a pacifier to the enemy which is hell bent on our destruction since the day of our independence?

I say build even more ports like Gwadar... ala, hit it where it hurts the most (or at least make them scared to get hit where it hurts the most).

Pakistan Zindabad...

p.s. India is a ##### CUNTry

Well I think that it was a very wise move from our Naval chief to call for a meeting instead of letting them be concerned, in the end if they do anything stupid, its both our economies that is going to get hurted.

Plus this is a way to work on more stability in the region.

Now if they attack, we can defend ourselves, we are not the ones that should promote war or problems in the regions as they may be doing.

Main concern is China. Will they be happy if India build a port in Vietnam? I think no. But still there is no military link from China to Gwadar. This will not gonna happen from current India-China relation but we dont know what gonna happen in future. We should prepare for them. Both politically and militarily. Three ways, speed up the production of Scorpene and P-15A as well as second submarine and P-17A deals.

Go and build one in Vietnam.

Are you able and capable of such?

And what for? For shipping Vietnamese fruits and vegitables?

Somehow the Indians and some China bashers would like to think that Vietnam is a thorn in China's side, that it is a country which might be leveraged against China. It is not. Go and visit Vietnam and find out how the Vietnameses think of China and her people. Well, I have been to Vietnam a couple of times, and I can tell you ordinary Vietnameses (peasants, tourist guides, shop owners, street vendors, hotel staffs, restaurant waiters, policemen, museum workers etc) are envious and in awe of China.

how is this related to the topic?!!! Banglsdesh is not selling gas to India but still India is the largest contributer of rice due to recent natural disaster there which caused huge food shortages. Its called strategic plan, china and Japan have huge business but still Japanese are the second biggest enemy of China after Tiwan.

Cooperation is a comman word in international relation, every country wants other countries cooperation. India need Bangladesh's cooperation to implement SAPTA, but that dont mean they can built a port in Srilanka!
