SAABS AEW Aircraft - with 2 Gripens at her side.....Inshallah it is only matter of time where instead of gripens, JF17s will be flying by her side near the beaches of Pakistan....

Fokker F27 PIA-Scheme, year 2000 this has most probably been a "homemade" technology where Pakistan can get experience and be less dependent on other countries....e.g. US, since it has plans to sell PC3 orions to India...and develop the Fokker F27 to the Orion

PC3 orion in US-Navy Scheme, which I'm sure Pakistan Navy will get to at this level, Inshallah

Don't underestimate the PN, PAF - they know what they are doing, trust their decisions.

What I see is that PAF has aimed at the design of the aircraft with given minimum till maximum physical points compared to:
a) P3C-Orion
b) SAAB AEW

which they have focused on the national remodified built F27s.. (i am not sure if they are built in PK, could anyone clear that for me, please thanks.)

We have given info that the heights differ from: From 6,97-10,3 metres
The Wingspan: From 20-30 metres
The Length: From 19,73-35,6 metres
The Max. takeoff weights: 13,155 kg-19,733 kg-65,400 kg

Technical Info on SAABS AEW
Technical info on the Orion
Technicalinfo on the Fokker F27

So I would guess that the F27 has been remodified, stripped everything from the inside and rebuilt with military hardware and going to be tested and developed till the project becomes on a international level like the SAABS AEW or P3C - then finally jointventured with the Chinese...

This is my personal view and research, others may find it wrong but that's because they are the experts :-)

Peace

Ex-PIA Fokkers have been part of PN for quite some time now, nothing new.
The Chinese have improvised and fitted some equipment in them and they fly around like recon planes.
airomerix
Yeah they are used by PN since 1980s for martime survilliance! They hav just boosted up the deal
aziqbal
OMG as if things couldnt get worse now we are inducting fokkers and alouette helicopters PN must be desperate.
shahid_2dk
These are just old PIA aircrafts, militarized and moved to PN for a really low cost I guess, so no probs smile.gif
instantexcess
Both PAF & PN frequently take in a/c from PIA. I think PAF still operates a 707 they picked off PIA a couple of decades back.

Than you gets threads like "Pakistan armed forces are too bloated"
