Italy's Eni starts gas production from Badhra field
MILAN (April 16 2008): Italian oil company Eni SpA has started production from its Badhra natural gas field in Pakistan and completed boosting capacity at the Bhit treatment plant fed by Badhra, Eni said on Tuesday. The Badhra and Bhit projects increase the Bhit plant capacity by 17 percent to 315 million metric standard cubic feet per day, it said in a statement.

Eni has completed commissioning Bhit's third train, it said. The Badhra field is about 250kms northeast of Karachi. "Total investment in the Badhra Development and Bhit Acceleration Project will be approximately $50 million," Eni said.
