We might be able to attach SAMs like Stinger (5km range) on MRTP-33, but not something like Umkhonto (12km range) on Visby. From the looks of it, the MRTP-70 uses vertical-launch SAMs of the Umkhonto or VL-MICA league. IMO MRTP-70/Visby is definitely something to have to protect coasts and closer sea-lanes...IMO could be supplemented very well by smaller MRTP-33 and perhaps a U210/SMX-23 light SSK.

According to MSI magasine last issue, Yonca-Onuk have been agreed to sell 34 mrtp super 16 with stamps to BAE without any bidding. Mrtp super 16 max speed 78 knot. 12 fast attack boats are going to construct in turkey and anothers in BAE, so Yonca-Onuk give some tech to construct composit boats in BAE.

News from Yonca-Onuk

-Pakistan also interested in new MRTP 40. yonca-onuk hopes to take order about new MRTP 40 from Pakistan.

-New design sat boat of Yonca-Onuk has been reached about 86 knot. These boats have been designed for Turkish SAT teams and also going to submit USA's fast attack boat tender. MRTP-22 will race with marc-5 at USA tender.

regards...

MRTP-40 might be next, and then I hope we see MRTP-70 later.

The Shape appears Stealthy!! But the Gaping opening @ the side suggests that the stealthiness might be nullified! Can anyone explain about this!?

Stealth is multi-spectral, you're over focussed on one aspect which might (or might not) affect radar cross section. The design of the Visby has been directed to minimising the optical and infrared signature, above water acoustic and hydroacoustic signature, underwater electrical potential and magnetic signature, pressure signature, radar cross section and actively emitted signals. I.e. a complete package.

The gaping hole probably closes. It looks like something to lower/launch a small motorboat from when needed
