LAHORE: Pakistan is quite different from the image painted by media abroad, CEO Asia House of UK Chariotee Pinder stated this while exchanging her views with the CEO of Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (SMEDA) Shahid Rashid.

According to a statement issued here on Monday, Chariotee was on her first-ever trip to Pakistan along with Peter Courtney, Senior Country Manager, South Asia for UK Trade and Investment section of the British High Commission.

She said that both business and cultural environments were opposite to the opinion prevalent in Europe about Pakistan. “This is a wonderful country having a lot of opportunities for international businessmen,” she said, assuring that she would apprise UK businessmen about the business potential of Pakistan.

Peter Courtney was also of the same opinion about business prospects available in Pakistan. He observed that a vast scope for joint ventures existed between the UK and Pakistan in various fields of industrial and commercial sectors.

He emphasised on the need for identifying the potential sectors of SMEs to enhance business between the two countries. Earlier, Shahid Rashid had informed the UK delegation about the role being played by SMEDA for development of the SME sector in Pakistan.
