LANDIKOTAL: An Afghan soldier was injured in an exchange of fire between the Frontier Corps (FC) and Afghan security forces at the Torkham border crossing on Saturday, sources told Daily Times.

They said the clash erupted when FC personnel tried to stop Afghan children from carrying out cross-border movement of flour. The border crossing was closed for an hour and a half following the clash, the sources added. The political administration and Afghan border officials later held negotiations and agreed to re-open the border crossing. staff report
