Australia to give $8.6m in food aid to Pakistan

CANBERRA: Australia is to give millions of dollars for urgent food aid to Pakistan, Zimbabwe and North Korea, Foreign Minister Stephen Smith said on Thursday. Smith told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation that Australia would give $8.6 million to Pakistan, $7.7 million to Zimbabwe and $1.9 million to North Korea. Australia has already committed $29 million to the United Nations’ World Food Programme emergency appeal, but will donate the additional funds at the behest of the group because of urgent humanitarian needs, he said.

LMAO... Of course this is a disgrace... Pakistan an agrarian economy? Think again... I mean we're being put alongside Zimbabwe and NK. That's just bad... Pakistan also being the largest recipient out of the lot. Are we in such a bad condition? What a desperation...

This unreal. There is no way Pakistan is as bad as Zimbabwe or North Korea.

Pakistan is much worse than both North Korea and Zimbabwe, they have embargos but even although we have access to worlds technologys people are still starving and we have no food embargos.

What makes you say that? Look at Pakistan today how many people can afford the cooking oil contaiiner which now cost 900 Rupees and last only fews weeks. What about Rice, Wheat, Soya Beans, Milk which Pakistan produces!

Pakistan has the most fertile lands in the world the Punjab! We should be donating to Australia not the other way round so means we are in worse position than these countrys.
