‘PML-Q left good economy behind’

LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) government left the country’s economy in a healthy condition unlike when the PML-Nawaz (PML-N) was driven out of the office, PML-Q Punjab Secretary General Chaudhry Zaheeruddin said on Tuesday. Zaheer was responding to allegations of PML-N leader Khawaja Asif about the previous government’s weak economic performance. According to a statement issued by the PML-Q, Zaheer said the statistics released by the incumbent government testified that the foreign exchange reserves of the country in December 2007 stood at $16.5 billion, while the figure was $800 million in 1999 following PML-N’s two-year rule. He alleged the PML-N was likely to repeat lackluster performance.
