I was about to type in something very pessimistic with regards to the current state of country, but once I saw who you put in that photo, it put a smile on my face. That baba has been coming out for 35 years, and is probably the most patriotic man in the country. Inshallah next time I go to Pakistan, I will do an interview of him and the baba at Badshai and post it up on the internet.
Manim : Everytime I am upset .. I come across something which makes me realize how much we are Pakistani .. It is embedded in our DNA ! .. ! & than you turn around and see but Pakistan is only 61 years old .. how come .. from where .. .. you realize that if the day comes that God forbid we loose this country .. many have a nervous breakdown .. if not total change of life style !
I just pray that this day does not come in my lifetime .. cause .... I would not be myself again ...
Even I'm not that pessimistic. I believe some Pakistanis don't like each other, but we won't kill each other on a massive scale (although it may be a hell of a stress reliever).
In general I think Pakistan may have one of the most, jahil, yet politically aware populations in the world, in the sense we tend to overthink things. If you go to a gaooN you see people, illiterate, discussing things like we do over chai! Probably with less thought into consequences, but more than any other people in the world. In that sense too I think Pakistan isn't doing that badly, if you look at things like education, quality of life, daily amount of food eaten, Pakistanis are blessed compared to other nations (compare rural Pakistan to rural India), I think our frustration comes from the fact that Pakistanis have a potential far greater than our political environment allows. Go to America, the top doctors, lawyers, scholars, students are all Pakistani. Why in America, but no in our own country is our frustration.
Umeed tho Rakhiye. All is gut
