Pakistan Air Force joined hands with the nation to celebrate 61st Independence Day of the country with due fervour and dignity Thursday, says a press release.

The Day commenced with offering of special ‘dua’ in mosques of PAF all over the country after the Fajar prayers.

Officers, junior commissioned officers, airmen and the civilian staff of PAF, later assembled at their respective bases, units and headquarters to sing Pakistan’s national anthem.

The flag hoisting ceremony was held at Air Headquarters, Islamabad. Air Vice Marshal Sohail Gul Khan, hoisted national flag and read out the message of the day from Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Tanvir Mehmood Ahmed in which he said “Let us rededicate ourselves to the Quaid’s golden principles of unity, faith and discipline. On this momentous day, personnel of the PAF also renew their pledge of keeping the Air Force fully geared to fulfilling its mission.

No matter how short in men and material the PAF may be, no enemy can dare impose her will on Pakistan as long as its defence forces train hard with superior combat motivation and enjoy the confidence of their countrymen.

May Allah Almighty be with us, and may He strengthen us, both in character and competence, and grant us the vision to defend our motherland in a manner befitting the aspirations of the nation.”
