He should have taken them down.Atleast given the public another chance. Then resigned.Maybe we would have seen another picture emerge.

Actually both would have refused to participate due to the present day public opinion and would have called the elections sham. No wonder the impasse.

He should have gone out with a bang, infact half a dozen bangs, would have cleared the mess and the air!!!

political mafia created sense of crisis. In effect they were saying we are going to take the country down even further. It was either they go or Musharraf goes. So Musharraf had to go. This is mafia politics. It is not Islamic. No real Muslim accepts such system as Islamic. I am only saying as I want to emphasize that labeling Islamic does not make it so. Also, this is not how any country, especially a developing one, should function. The temporary rebound in economic indicators was expected, because it was depressed due to the created uncertainty. However long term is different story.
schmuck
Musharaf's resign was not about "Sab se pehlay Pakistan", but it was "Sab say pehlay Amrika+England aka masters"
still he will keep quiet partially to save the masters, and to save his own life from them.
He needs to be kept "safe" like AQ Khan

That's the crux of the affair. They took out one by one pro-Pakistan personalities from the setup because Gen. Musharaff had promised to stay a figure head or arbitrator and not operational. Look at the departure of Shireen Mazari, Munir Ahmed (Ambassador to UN), FBR Chief, transfer of ISI to Sherry Rehman, transfer/closure of NAB, all institutes which were kept as a counter check on their activities were one by one removed.

Also in the ISI saga, it was Gen. Musharaff who opposed the transfer and USA was furious .. but heck what .. people in the sham Pakistani newspaper want Gen. Musharaff to be tried for misuse of power !! hahahaha
